I have always been surprised by the way some Midget owners fold their hoods away, just unclipping the fastening and folding it back (like a concertina) so that the material is trapped within the metal framework. As spring is approaching I thought that I would show how it should be done. This will ensure the hood remains in good condition, minimises scratching of the window sections and will delay the need to buy a new one.
Remove grit and dirt by carefully dusting the rear and side screens.
After unclipping all the fastenings, hold the fabric and pulling it clear of the collapsing frame.
Carefully spread the hood out over the boot lid and fold the quarter sections in to form a rectangle.
Make sure that the hood header rail catches are in their closed position and fold the hood into the car.
