Below is the announcement from the Healeysport website
Phil Broster
It is with great sadness that we heard that Phil Broster died last weekend (29 April).
Phil had been reporting on the Austin Healey Club's Race Championship since the early 1990's and for the MG Car Club's Midget and Sprite Challenge since 2012. He was an indispensible part of each race weekend as he took the pictures and wrote the race reports describing the action at each event that would then appear on this website and in 'Revcounter'.
All the drivers knew Phil as he would interview them before and after each race to ensure his reports were accurate and interesting. He was forever cheerful and clearly enjoyed life in the paddock and his role in recording what happened in words and pictures. He was known as "Scoop" and as the nickname suggests, he loved to find nuggets of information about a driver or a car to bring his reports to life.
Outside the world of motorsport, Phil was a professional photographer who also lectured in Photographic Art.
Our deepest sympathy and condolences go to Phil's family as we have all lost someone special.
The Midget Register would like to add our deepest sympathy and condolences to Phil's family and friends at this very sad time.
